I have found (with the help of a fellow PSer) a setting I like at Ritani:

http://www.ritani.com/engagement-rings/french-set-halo-diamond-band-engagement-ring-in-platinum/4975

And am ultimately facing the decision whether to go with them for the diamond also. I have heard alot of feedback for popular vendors on PS but haven't seen many reviews/talk about Ritani. Reasons I am being drawn to Ritani is:
- One stop shop factor
- Free cleanings
- Decent upgrade policy
- View ring in store
- 3% Rebate offer

I am also curious as to how I can use the Price Match guarantee they offer to my benefit. Any help with finding a diamond at Ritani/possibly a comparable diamond elsewhere to price match would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking to spend around 8k on the diamond (five or take), with importance being:
- 1.2+ Carat (Facing up as large as possible without sacrificing cut/fire)
- G-H color
- Eye Clean

I am also open to any alternative ideas if it would make sense for me to do so. I found out about this community from SlickDeals so you can imagine my desire to find a great deal :wall:

I may have helped my situation a little. After talking with a rep online I realized that White Flash can get the setting I like even though they do not have it listed on their website. So if getting a better diamond means going to White Flash that would still be a one stop shop.

I would sacrifice a few other perks though.

Hi,

I'm no diamond expert, but I'll chime in. My boyfriend and I spent about 6 months searching for the perfect diamond and ring for me. We ended up buying our center stone from Ritani and getting the setting from our local jeweler. I had nothing but great experiences working with Ritani. They have great prices and a really nice selection of diamonds. The main benefit is being able to physically see the diamond in a store before purchasing, unlike a lot of other online diamond retailers. Although you can see videos and photos of the diamonds online, it's nothing like being able to see the diamond in person. I would have also bought the setting through them as well, but I just didn't fall in love with any of them personally.

Here is a link to my ring...well I guess not *mine* yet, as I'm still waiting for him to propose: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/new-platinum-solitaire.206785/

Good luck with your search!

I will say that my experience with Ritani was great in that seeing the ring in person was satisfying to my husband especially (the very idea of buying a diamond online was a complete no-no to him and there are no big jewelers near us , just mall stores) one of the only "bad" thing was, now really does anyone expect a woman to say she doesn't like a sparkly? so my saying I didn't want that ring that was already my size and there for me was just impossible. he knew he was doomed the minute they opened the box.
