Any advice on kitten + puppy household?

So I've been gone for a while. We have a new puppy and we recently adopted a kitten from a rescue. I read a bunch of books about how to integrate the kitten into the household and I thought it was going well, but not so much. Our puppy is terrorizing the kitten by trying to play with her! She wants to play SO bad, but the kitten is just not ready. The kitten has a safe room, we keep them separated a lot, and we are trying to keep the dog controlled when the kitten is out but she keeps barking at the kitten trying to get her to play. I thought it was time to start introducing them and they are not fighting, but the puppy is startling the kitten.

So any advice?

On a side note here are some photos of the babies.

ETA: Sorry the photos are so big!

Both of your babies are so cute! My BF and I got a kitten while we were house sitting with dogs and had to introduce him to both sets of dogs. The first set after being in a separate room for a few days and the dogs being very curious, they got along extremely well, so that was a huge relief. The second set, we did the same and one of the dogs was just a bit too curious. What we were able to do was hold the kitten while the dog was out and that was fine, but I did not attempt letting the cat down unless the dog was being held. So all that I can add is that maybe just continue to keep them separated, but try to get them used to being around each other. I think I read something about rewarding the dog for kind of not paying attention to the cat, and hopefully they'll get used to each others presence.
I wish I could be of more help, I really hope this works out well.

Thank you pinkstars! Things were a bit better today overall. The kitten is standing up or herself a bit which makes me feel better. Thank you again for your reply!
