Hey all,

Been reading these posts for a while but feel at this point I''m just kind of dragging my feet on such a big purchase (2 mo. already). Would appreciate any input amongst these stones. I get the feeling that I just need to pull the trigger on one of them and any one of them would look great. I guess I feel at this point some reassurance or advice from the PS members would help move me in the right direction.

Just a few of my criteria, cut/quality > size, and I don''t want anything larger than 1 carat. It''ll be going in a solitaire setting. Price is a factor...stone #1 is probably stretching my budget.

Stone #4

I''m sorry that this is such a long post and that my first post of the forum is a cry for help. I''ve tried to provide all the pertinent information that people always seem to want. Unfortunately, no other reports are available and the stones are sight unseen... I appreciate any help you guys are able to offer.

Thanks!
J

if price is really that much of a factor with these 4.. i would say go with stone #2...its priced very well, a giant chunk of the price difference will come between the the clarity when comparing it to the other stones.. visually you wont notice a difference unless you put it under a scope

imo... the diamond is well cut so you shouldnt lose any of the glitz when comparing it to the others

If price isn't a consideration I like #1. I really like the spec combo, lots of fire! Good luck!

Thanks for the responses.

Heb1976: anything specific about the specs for stone #1 that shows it''ll have more fire than the other stones?

Hi there, firstly don''t stress you are in capable hands and it will all be alright.

We need IS images to determine if any of these are winners or not.

If you are going to purchase sight unseen and cannot get an IS image I would recommend using Whiteflash or GOG as they provide heaps on info on their stones and have great return and upgrade policies. Just a few suggestions

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4537/ looks to be under your budget, could put the extra $$$ towards a blingy wb?

Good luck!

Hi rocknewb, let me first explain that I am by no means an expert and this is my personal preference. It''s not that #1 will have more fire than any others b/c #2 IS a FIC but gives up some of the light return and Scintillation. But #1 has a well balanced mix w/ the 35.5 crown angle and 40.6 Pav angle and 56% table it will have wonderful fire without giving up the other components of a beautiful diamond such as the brilliance and light return. I personally love a TIC with a wonderful combo for fire.

These all look like promising choices, but I wanted to mention, did you want VVS clarity? I just wanted to mention, you could drop to VS comfortably as you have with one of the stones, and still have a very clean diamond. Of course if you prefer VVS then ignore that advice.
