Yow, watched Antiques Roadshow & gulped! A young woman brought in a diamond ring that was part of the stock left in her grandfather's Leadville CO jewelry store when he died. It had been given to her when the family cleaned things out.
Appraiser (from A La Vielle Russie) said it is a 5.2 ct Asscher, VS1, G color, set in platinum. It had 2 pear-shaped (I think, didn't get a good look) side stones he didn't mention, but he priced it at $165,000 to $175,000. I wish I had a grandfather like that!!
