Wanted to share a recent purchase - Antique Victorian 4 carat Colombian Emerald ring, with 2.4 carats of old mine cut diamonds in silver over 18k gold. This is my first sizeable emerald, and these pics do not capture the intensity or true color. The glow is absolutely unreal irl, and it’s the most transparent/brilliant emerald I’ve seen. It’s old cut as well. Like some fine quality Columbia’s emeralds, under Uv light it has a soft pinkish/red glow (not intense like a synthetic or a ruby). I need to send it to GIA, but it appears to have faint/minor oil as seen in UV light, but GIA will say for sure! Would love any thoughts from emerald experts. Irl the color is an intense apple green with lots of glow. These pics don’t really show it well.
