Bought this cute 5 stone rose cut band on ebay and I'm looking to get the stones reset. It looks OK from afar but upon closer inspection you can see the stones are crudely set, so I'm looking to have it redone. The 5 rose cuts are slightly graduated and all but one of them seem to be pretty eye-clean. I purchased it for around $150 on ebay so I'm happy to put some money into it to get it looking it's best. I am looking for inspiration pics for how to set the stones and recommendations for a bench in NYC who can do this work, I don't really want to go through the trouble of mailing it off if I can avoid it.

Also! there seems to be an arabic inscription inside, if anyone reads arabic I'd love to get a translation! Pictures below!

The writing is a man’s name, Abas Qasim

Wow cool! Thank you for translating.

Cool! Could that be the maker's name?

It seems like a pretty common name just based on googling and no results for jewelry. My guess is it belonged to someone with that name or was given by someone with that name. The engraving style looks pretty old to me but I really don't know anything about the ring.

I see what you mean about the crude work.
Maybe take it to a trusted jeweler and have the face of the ring cleaned up and polished, and new prongs added.
I think a lot of the charm is in the hand work and inscription.

agreed! I like the way they are set now in terms of being sort of sunken into the band but I wonder if its possible to get it cleaned up. I think right now the stones are kind of bead set?

I love the patina of the band, its kind of a rosy gold though there are no metal markings.

I think you did great for $150!
Its a really unique ring, and I think a little rehab will do wonders!
