So, i''ve started getting additional diamonds to turn my 5 stone into an eternity. I''m up to 9 stones.. yaay and I''m considering this one for the 10th.

As my last few purchases have been through JA and they recently started providing hearts images, i asked for one. I''m not very good at reading hearts so can the experts here tell me if this stone is a true H&A?

stats: AGS0, H, VS2, .52
depth: 61.7
table: 55.4 (i love smaller tables)
crown 34.3
pavilion 40.9

Here''s the hearts image:

Looks promising Elle, the hearts image to me is imperfect, not what I call ' true' h&a but if that is ok with you then it could be a contender.

yap, slight imperfect hearts.

I think the diamond could be nice, 34.3 40.9 is a nice combo.
Did they provide you the IdealScope picture?

Agree, but it''s not something I think you would see in real life.

Thanks Lorelei.

WF has one too but it''s a VS1 and 500 more. Not sure I want to spend the extra money on the higher clarity at that size. The fact that it isn''t a true H&A doesn''t bother me. I''m more concerened about the performance.

Then this one could fit the bill beautifully!

Absolutely, I think it would be lovely elle!

Thanks guys!!
Ordering it!

I may still get the WF one but going to wait a little while longer. I''m trying not to rush this project!

o I ordered the stone but then found this one http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1253977.asp
They''re not calling it an H&A but the numbers look pretty good. What I''m curious about is the inscription. On the GIA report is shows a symbol followed by H&A. Does anyone know who this company is?

Hmmm, not familiar with that logo. Canadian maybe? And I can''t make out the PA, old eyes. Is it 40.6 or 40.8?

Hmm, thought it was 40.6, but now wondering if it's 40.5?

Wondering if it's worth keeping an eye on it for the near future.

eta: just checked GIA's site. it's 40.6

I personally like the angle combo on the other better, but that's just me.

(a sarin might change my mind, as these are rounded)

Thanks again guys, much appreciated.

Just tryig to find a few and then when I''m ready to buy again, choose whichever is still available. So far the WF one is in the lead, if they still have it in the next few months.

btw, getting my JA one today.. excited. Thinking I''ll try to do a photoshoot of the loose ones to see if i can capture the differences, and how they correlate to the numbers.

I''d love to see some pics of this elle. Might be helpful in the future too.

And welcome!

I always thought we agreed on what makes diamonds beautiful

I just don''t always think that perfect H&A''s are necessary to get great light performance. But I''m not a perfectionist. I just love beautiful stones

We do agree on what makes a diamond beautiful

You can see how the precision of the cut causes the H&A pattern to become more distinct, yes

You're right, it doesn't have to be perfect and you're picking some mighty nice diamonds there, elle. They are going to sparkle like crazy
