Another ring sizer question: Which would you do?

Ok, so my ring size is officially a 6, but I had my Ering created as a 6.25 to give myself a bit of wiggle room (swelling during the summer, pregancy, etc). I also wanted to have my Wband the same size because many of you have said that the rings feel tighter when you wear them both at the same time. So here's my problem. Although I have yet to try it on to be sure, I'm seriously leaning toward this Tiffany Wband: Tiffany Legacy Band w/out diamonds it has engraving completely around the band so resizing is not an option. My choices are a size 6 or a size 6.5 with a horseshoe (Tiffany calls it butterfly) sizer.

Which would you do? Buy the ring that fits just right and hope for no weight gain and wear the ring on a necklace during pregnancy? Or go with the 6.5 and possibly be stuck with a sizer in your Wband for the rest of your days?

For the record, I've been a pretty slim girl my entire life. I am 5'5" and was 110lbs for well over a decade until I started BC when I was 25. I went up to 137lbs at one point, switch BC and have since dropped to 123-125 (it just hovers there). So any fluctuation in weight was a result of BC and nothing else.

Thanks for your help!

Does a 6.5 actually fall off of your finger without a sizer? Will you wear it on the inside of your ering, as many women do? Then you wouldn''t have to worry about it sliding off.

Thanks for responding jazmine. I actually wore a 6.5 white gold ring on that finger for 4 years without a problem. As of now, it's a bit chilly in the room so my fingers have shrunk and my Ering is rather loose. So I wasn't sure if, due to the weight of the platinum, if they were both loose on a chilly day and I put my hand down if it would be easier for them to fall off. Perhaps I'm paranoid. ETA: Yes I do plan to wear the Wband on the inside but will take the Ering off during certain trips to unfamiliar places (like when we go to Europe next year).

For me, my knuckle is the bigger part. So I have a 4.75 ering (a bit easier to get off for cleaning) and a 4.5 wedding band (tough to get off, but I wear it all the time, and it is comfortable, since my knuckle is the bigger part). So in my case, I would lean toward the smaller band.

I''d probably split the difference and go with a 6.25.

Me too, but it sounds like that band is only made in 6 and 6.5.

I guess I''d lean toward the larger one if you hope to wear it a lifetime. I didn''t need to resize my rings for 25 years, but I was glad I could at that time. Is your mom still the same weight she was in her 20''s? I don''t know many people who stay that small forever. I am so crazy, I''d probably buy one in each size so I''d never have to worry about it!

I really do love that ring!

OH...if this is the case, then I'd wholeheartedly agree with DS and get the larger one.

I'd rather wear a spacer because the ring is too big instead of being unable to wear the ring at all because it's too small if body chemistry changes.

I''d go larger, too. The feeling of a tight ring is icky-claustrophobic for me, at least. I always wear my rings loose. I''ve never had much problem with them falling off (knock on wood!)

Plus, the two together should make them fit tighter. Bigger shanks and/or two rings will do that.

Hmmm...I don''t know, I''d probably hesitate to get a wedding ring in a not quite right size. Is there a similar wedding band by another designer you can get? Or could you get something custom made? I just think most people will have their wedding band for the rest of their lives and it would be a little sad if you couldn''t get it resized at all!

i can COMPLETELY relate...down to the finger size. my advice is to go with a 6.5.

i''m technically a size 6 also (according to my jeweler, Leon, etc). My original ering is a 6 as well as my orginal wband which is a tiffany shared prong eternity band. on a good day, they both fit just right with maybe a hairline of finger squeezing. on a bad day (which there are plenty of in hot and humid HK), they squeeze my finger.

I upgraded a couple months ago and had leon make a set for me and even though he said i''m a 6, i insisted on 6.25. they''re perfect! i tried on my original wband recently and SOOOOOO wish I had gotten a 6.5. the tightness bothers me so much i even looked into selling the 6 on signed pieces and using the proceeds to get a 6.5 (but am not doing that because the proceed is lower than i had hope for).

i think since the difference is only half a size, it should not be enough that you CAN''T wear your ring, regardless of which size you get. it''s just a matter of tightness. some don''t mind a little finger squeezing in exchange for security. i personally like my rings loose and don''t feel there''s a real risk of them falling off (i stare at them every second so they''re NOT going anywhere)! so it''s personal preference.

BTW...i love the wband you chose! i''ve looked at that one too.

My ring size is 4.5 and that's what my ering is. However, my wedding band is a size 5 and I like it that way. I hate tight rings and the look of a tight ring though. In your case, it's a tough decision. I'd probably go and try them on if you have a Tiffany in your city and go with the 6.5 if it's not too big. FYI, when I married my first husband at 21, my ring size was 2.75! 20 years later... My hubby jokes when we watch the old videos of me with my oldest daughter as a baby. He wants to know why he didn't get the skinny girl...and I say...you did!!!! I may not be as tiny, but I'm certainly not large!!! I just have fat little hands now...

Thanks ladies! You have convinced me to go with the larger size. I really hate sausage finger and it would be sad to be stuck with a ring too small that I couldn''t wear. At least with the bigger one I can always get a sizer if necessary (and I''m not even sure if it is).

diamondseeker, I must be just as crazy as you are because I seriously thought of buying two! But of course my future husband may take an issue with that lol. Actually, I''m still thinking of buying two, one now, another later and I just won''t tell him about it until he buys something super expensive that he didn''t really need lol.

Ok, next step is to try the darn thing on. It would suck to put this much thought into it and then find out I don''t actually like it in person. Of course, the Tiffany rep I spoke to on the phone was selling it to me. Talking about how beautiful it is in person. *sigh*

I wanted to thank you ladies again. I purchased the band today and I''ve been wearing it all day and getting the 6.5 was definitely the best thing to do. With both rings on it''s comfortable but very snug. Granted, my fingers are a bit swollen because I''m warm but I shouldn''t have any worries about them falling off.

diamondseeker it looks gorgeous with my Ering! I had never seen it in person until today. I will definitely post pictures as soon as the desktop computer is repaired (don''t have access to any photo editing stuff on this laptop).
