What am I missing? After looking at the idealscope image, why isn''t it considered part of their ACA selection?

Oh! My! This stone will be drop-dead gorgeous! And obviously huge!

ACAs are hearts and arrows...there could be something wrong with the hearts.

Or maybe that it''s a little bit out of round.

We just don''t know.

In any case, looks good! And you don''t have to pay the ACA premium.

"Lordy" is right...

I now know the specs of a $28,000 diamond... This one is 10% below Rap...

Makes sense, JulieN. Thanks for the replies all.

Hopefully this stone will remain available during the next week or so while I do some other searching.

You can always ask WF why it didn''t make ACA status (I always did); it may be something as simple as the hearts pattern wasn''t perfect. In this case from the top of my head, if the polish and symmetry are not "ideal" then that automatically does not get ACA status.

I see now that it''s GIA certed, so perhaps it was not cut by WF.

I had WF ship this stone to a local appraiser and here are the appraiser''s results:

Weight: 2.01 carat
Measurement: 8.06 - 8.12 x 5.00mm
Color: D (woo hoo!!)
Clarity: VS2
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very good to Excellent
Fluorescence: None
Depth: 61.8%
Table: 57%
Pavilion Depth: 43.5% (Sarin said 43.1%)
Crown Height: 14.5% (Sarin said 15.1%)
Girdle: Medium to slightly thick, faceted
Culet: None, Pointed

The appraiser called it a "Top Ideal" cut with H&A pattern. I asked him, off the record, what he thought. His reply was, "hot!"

The stone looked great under their lights, but they wouldn''t let me take it outside under natural sunlight.
