Another question for goldsmiths

Hi all,

Could you please tell me if you see any problems in melting down a 9k white gold bracelet for use as 2 or 3 ring settings? Is this fairly straight forward for a goldsmith/setter to do as longs as their is enough gold from the one bracelet?

Secondly, I have been told previously that white gold is difficult to mix together from different items if not done from the same goldsmith, due to them not knowing the mix/formula is that correct?

Usually they do not use remelts as impurity might be present and results in porosity and other problems in the new item.
