Hello everyone! I’ve been lurking around the site for quite sometime now and learning/researching as much as I can. From what I’ve seen, everyone seems quite nice and willing to give help/support/advice. It just so turns out that I’m in definite need of all of that. The more I read, the more I realize how little I actually know. In any case, I selected a few diamonds from the well-known e-tailers, listed below in my order of preference. I was hoping to get some feedback from both the experienced and in-experienced. So, please feel free to agree or disagree with my list or offer any comments or advice that may help my selection. Oh yea, just wanted to get it out in the open, I’m a sucker for magic sizes.

Welcome Nick!

These diamonds are all beauties, you could probably pick any and be delighted, so perhaps base your choice on price and size, as they are all I colour. Did your GF request an I colour specifically? An I can be an excellent choice and still face up white, I was just curious if this was her preference.

Lorelei,
The color was actually my biggest concern about my choices (assuming vs2 is truly eye clean). When searching, naturally cut quality was of the utmost importance to me (hoping others will agree the first 2 on my list are about as high quality cut''s as available

). So based on my budget and the size I was hoping for, I color vs2 clarity was the best I could find. Assuming a simple tiffany style solitaire in PT, do you think the I color would be noticeable to an unaided eye? next to an E,F, or G? Thanks again.
Nick

Rather than clutter up the forum with another thread asking the same advice question, I'll just nag everyone for more advice here. I'm still leaning towards the I/VS2 from GOG, but I am slightly concerned that my gf and I (really more me actually) may not be satisfied with the I color. So, I found another option from James Allen that I think may be comparable assuming that its eye clean (I haven’t see any IS or aset images yet). In any case, I’m looking for opinions on the two stones. Thanks in advance, Nick

Hi Nick!

The JA diamond looks promising, I would request an Idealscope image if you can. It depends as you say on your colour preference, a superbly cut I like the GOG diamond will still look white, but it is up to your comfort levels as to which one might be best. Also in case an upgrade might be a future possibilty, you might want to compare the policies and terms for each vendor.

Lorelei,
Just wanted to say thanks for always providing your .02 everytime I''ve come for more feedback. While I dont anticipate upgrading anytime soon, its good to know if a your current stone will be credited for 100% of its initial cost.

You are very welcome Nick!

If you are concerned about the I colour, have you considered dropping down to SI1 clarity and going up a colour grade? This could be an excellent trade-off if you find a totally eyeclean stone. If eyeclean, you are not going to be able to tell the difference between VS2 and SI1, and you may feel a little more comfortable in the H colour range.
