I'm in the process of trying to pick a diamond for a pendant that was discussed on another forum - LINK. There are a lot of WF ES diamonds in the .33 to .40 range that fit my budget. The mm size difference between the .33 and .40 diamonds are about .20mm to .30mm. How noticable will that be in a pendant and is it worth the extra $100 to $150?

Here are just a few in my range. There are several pages that fit my budget and too many to choose from. Besides price, how do I pick the best one? Having only bought a Jubilee cut diamond I'm not sure what minor differences I should look for when making a decision. I have asked WF to look at several of them since most of the links don't have enlarged pictures of the actual diamonds. Any suggestion????

Hi,
I'd go for the biggest size I could afford. My pendant is .38 w/a bezel and this is a great size for me as I'm petite (5' 4"). I don't think I'd go smaller than this unless I couldn't save up for the additional $100-150.

Okay, if I eliminate the smaller ones and just look at the .38 to .40 diamonds they all look pretty good on paper. I guess I'll just have to throw a dart at them and pick the one it hits.

Edit: How concerned should I be if the girdle is listed as "Very thin to thin"?

ep, I agree that you should go with the larger size. Since there are several to choose from, I''d get Whiteflash''s input on which stone is the best. They are used to looking at diamonds all day long and they should be able to choose a winner for you.

As for the girdle, I think that you will be fine, especially since this is a pendant and not a ring. But again, I''d check with Whiteflash for their input on that.

i would go bigger also. how do you feel about ''j'' color? this one looks nice (sorry..i know you were trying to narrow the list!

) but the price is good...

i wouldn''t worry about a vthin or thin girdle, especially in a pendant stone. best of luck! you''re going to have a beauty no matter what you decide!

The J looks nice. It''s in the same price and size range as the other G/H non-ACA''s that I''m looking at. It''s a tough choice.

tough choice..i know!
my own personal preference would be for the aca. you know it''s a good cut and it''s backed up with a new ags report that grades light performance. since the size is virtually identical and the price is the same (less actually) that would make the choice even easier.
or throw the dart..you can''t go wrong anyway.

Both have about the same kind of inclusions: a crystal under the table... (on the shaft of the 6 o'clock arrow in the G and right in the centre for the H). If either may be visible, I don't know... the G seems to have better chances to be 'eye clean' despite the lower clarity grade. Can't hurt to ask.

Of the stone son the initial list, the other H-SI1 seems to have the more discrete inclusions (link to listing).

WF said the inclusions on the G were more discrete than on the H. I''ll check out the others.

I can tell you the .39 H, SI stone is eyeclean - I used to own it, but traded for a larger stone.
