HI,

I am considering purchasing THIS stone, upgrading from a 1.62 H color, SI1, ideal cut from a previous post at $10,700. Both are real nice diamonds. Is it worth the extra cost? Will be set in a DVatche Yellow Gold Royal Crown in a size 7.

Thanks are always in advance,
Charles

Unless you are not satisfied with the first diamond,.... Performance, color, inclusions,..... I don't see the upgrade worth the price. You aren't achieving a significant size increase. This diamond will appear virtually similar to the one you already have. Not side by side, of course. The color difference would be noticible. But mounted, stand alone, few people would really know the difference.

Just MHO.

Too expensive, IMHO. Sorry.

Probably everyone wuold prefer to receive this one as a gift and.. choose the first if suposed to ay for

Both stone deserve the "white & eye clean" clasiffication.

However, it is hard to me to imagine what were you looking for while making the choice ! The second stone ranks higher in color, clarity and size - all of which contribute to the extra cost. As you can see, some woudl say that starting with an already "white and clean" H-SI, weight is the most visible such factor... so why not a 2cts H-SI to compare with the first ?

I guess a similar reasoning would apply to any of the Cs... Which one is your priority?

Only you an answer whether it's worth it to *you*.

It wouldn't be worth it to *me*.....in my opinion, they'd look practically the same and why spend the extra $6k when that could pay for the honeymoon or something for the house?

But that's me. I don't know what's important to you.....only you know that. I guess I'd ask you this: Have you seen both of these in person? Do they *look* different from one another? If not, then why pay more?
