Hi Fellow Brides or Bride-to-be!

So my MIL suggests that since we purchased a home and eloped BOTH WITHIN one week, we should mail out announcement to family/friends on BOTH of the news. Would you please help me with the wording of the announcement cards in a few sentences? So far I have stolen the line from Bling Addict''s announcement: "We are overjoyed to share the news that we were married in a private ceremony on a beautiful day in SD. You have shared in our lives through your friendship and love; please know that you were in our thoughts as we began our lives as husband and wife"

Where would you also add a line about our purchase of a new home? Would you make a separate card for it? Or would you simply add a sentence to the existing card (it has a pic of us on the wedding date)?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Advice urgently needed, pretty please?

zhuzhu, you dont need to overtly mention the house move, in fact, it is very common to send out wedding announcements and at the bottom (I think it''s bottom left but not sure) you write:

At home:
Mr. & Mrs. Zhuzhu
123 Bling Avenue
San Diego, CA 92107

That way people know where you''re now living as a married couple. So for you, it''s an easy way to keep the focus of the announcement on your marriage, but also include the new address, which anyone who knows you guys will see is a new address. If you go to a stationary store, or look online you can find an example of the above "at home" and where on the card it should go. Or go to a stationary store and ask them. They''ll have samples...

I think you could also do it like Surfgirl suggested, but for those who might not realize, I believe it would be all right to start it with:

Our new address:

or

Please note our new address:

I think it would be fine to indicate your address has changed, but I wouldn''t make a big deal about buying a new house...people might think you''re looking for a wedding gift and/or a housewarming gift.

HTH!

Hehe, Honestly we would not mind getting some house gifts at all as we have no money left to buy new furnitures....

Hi Zhu
Glad to hear your announcements are going well.
How about
"Mr and Mrs Zhu (or your first names) will reside at:....."
or
"Mr and Mrs Zhu are making their home together at..."

perhaps printed in the bottom right corner of your announcement?
