Angie''s List

[Upgradable]

Has anyone ever used Angie''s List or another reference/evaluation service to find a local service?

We are looking for both a housecleaner and a painter. I prefer using local people or businesses and usually weigh heavily on local references. I''m having a hard time. Can anyone give me a strategy they''ve used?

The house painter and plumber I found recently people had reviewed on yelp (and then also said that they had great reviews on Angie''s list) so maybe try there if people Yelp in your area? I think Angie''s list is a great idea but I am cheap and didn''t want to pay! I also often send out emails to friends in the area to see if they have had luck with anyone.

I have used Angie''s list for a painter, electrician and a heating/cooling company. The reviews have been spot on and I have been very happy with the services provided.
