congrates!!

Welll... 2c opinion... for what that matters:

- about the ''colorless / SI'' part
30.gif

- spread (6.5 for 1 cts)
9.gif

- proportions ?

- and there''s that 1.8-4.3 girdle.... OK. that''s fine and tells me this one went through a bit o ''painting'' like the ACA and 8*. Or more? Probably not. It isn''t common to see too much of this good thing going around. So... what on Earth am I doing even making note of it? AGS calls it ''Ideal cut'' (AGS0). And that''s that.

This is about all that comes to mind

it sounds great!! :) do you have a setting picked out?

thank you..thank you!

My bad... for dropping that note out of the blue. The idea was... that the girdle thickness is somewhat variable, and this mean that the facets the edges of which form the girdle were cut at slightly diverging angles (= that''s what ''painting'' refferes to in the previous post). It is a small trick meant to make a few good things happen in the same time: get rid of the last conceivable nit of light leakage around the girdle (so you get those all-red Ideal Scope images for the Eight Star and A Cut Above diamonds because of this), to provide somewhat broader sparkles from the crown facets and... to keep a bit of weight on the diamond on ocasion (not even sure if this small tweak of cut really does serve that purpose well - unless one or two points added to 1 carat really make a difference to anyone).

See... I should have kept my mouse shut on that one. More talk than any material difference to speak of.

val, uhh..thanks for the info...still make no sense to a newbie like me.

but let me recollect and brainstorm from my previous college class on geometrical calculus and advance physics on divergent angles w/ respect to light symmetry.

uhhh..still don't get it...oh well.

i guess what really matters to me is best describe by the following equation:

lim f(x)
x --> 0
where x = AGS ideal grade

f(x) = ‡”( (ideal cut + over 1carat + eyeclean)^‡ = gf's bright smile + "yes"

congratulations! It looks lovely...

here are some pics..enjoy! guess u can only post 1 pic per reply.

And I am sure your girl (like most I can think of) was pleasantly surprised by your letting her choose.
