Just another idea.
Everyone is trying to go paperless - banks, stores, what not. But I am now sitting in my office and looking at a colorful stack of papers to be recycled. Pamphlets from drug companies (on top-quality glossy paper, no less), invitations to lunch dinners, etc., etc.
I told drug reps not to leave glossy pamphlets with me - I do not read them anyway. They said they are not leaving them with me - they are bringing them for me TO LOOK. And then this stuff is floating around the office. I know for sure my colleagues are tossing it all into recycling box, too. And then we have to pay the recycling company for this trash!
Drug companies used to bring us pens and souvenirs. Luckily, they are not allowed to do it anymore. None of us is attending drug lunches. (Someone must be, since they are still held, but not in my group). Who will stop this paper bacchanalia? Wherever I look, I see this glossy paper. I am not in the front office and receptionists can not keep track of it; this stuff gets mailed, too. I just feel bad that the money we spend on medications are turned into this useless paper - and we are expected to save the trees!
