Alright,

I have these stones on hold and are waiting on the gem report and Idealscopes for the 3 stones thru JamesAllen:

What say you fellow PS members, I await your feedback :D and insights

Re: And now we're down to the finalist- Which stone do you p

I'd eliminate the BG stone because it is the lowest color and smaller than the rest.

I'd decide between the G SI1 and the H VS1 because they are the larger of the group and size matters at this weight. Personally, I prefer VS for clarity, so I'd rather have the H VS1 over the G SI1. I wouldn't sacrifice any diameter to go with the F SI1.

Me too. Are prices all the same?

At this size you need to worry less about color and clarity IMO. Is there an H SI1 you like? Maybe eek out a little more ct weight for your money?

Re: And now we're down to the finalist- Which stone do you p

prices are all within a $250 range more or less. F is 1680,G is 1589 and the H is 1838

I will look at the H SI1's today and see what I can come up with. Price wise that H VS1 isnt but $230 more then the G

Agreed with the BGD pricing for size being not quite in the ballpark of these others.

I am open to a few suggestions or alternatives :cheeky:

Budget and desired specs?

lol... off the track of "fianlists" are we!?

Did a quick look and I think you indeed found the three best choices in the JA stones in your budget. My vote is the G!

RB .5-.6ct F-H color( I color was or could be an option but i'm finding alot of H's that are well in the price catagory) , eye clean or better, shooting for under a 2 HCA as a general guideline. I like 55-57 in the table, < or = 41% pavilion angle and 34ish crown angle. GIA or AGS certs and i suppose possibly a HRD thou I have yet to see one or if I have I cant recall. Top price of about 1800-1840ish bucks

Re: And now we're down to the finalist- Which stone do you p

Either the G or H is fine. Depends on whether the SI1 is eyeclean from top and sides.

Re: And now we're down to the finalist- Which stone do you p

They are in JA channels for the Idealscope, gem inspection and such. First of the week before we may have some additional information  but unlike the web, the physical is not instant so I'm OK with the wait, kinda

Re: And now we're down to the finalist- Which stone do you p

JA comments on the stones I have narrowed down too.

I have great news, our gemologist has determined that diamond 1445222 has excellent fire and brilliance and the gemologist feels that it will face perfectly eye clean to the untrained eye. The diamond is icy white and possesses a gorgeous sparkle.

Diamond 1445916 has excellent light performance as well, faces white, and should face eye clean to the unaided eye.

Diamond 1439018's light performance is a little weaker than your other selections and its color faces the warmest.

Diamonds 1445222 and 1445916 are both bright and have fantastic light performance. As SI1 graded diamonds that should face eye clean, they will also provide you with an excellent value. You truly cannot go wrong with either of these options and I'm confident that you'll be very satisfied with either option.

Well I think you found two winners

Re: And now we're down to the finalist- Which stone do you p

My vote is the F SI1.

First, it has no inclusions under the table, whereas the G Si1 seems to have a crystal or something right in the middle! You are unlikely to see the inclusions in eithe, but IMO inclusions out to the sides are much more desirable as a rule, because they are harder to spot and less offensive if you do.

Second, I find that in this size colorless diamonds really POP! You know how with lightbulbs you can buy soft white or bright white? The former being a warmer yellow and the latter being a shiter white? I find that the bright white lightbulbs seem so much brighter than the soft white, for the same wattage! It is the same with diamonds. More colorless stones look brighter somehow and I find that especially beneficial to diamonds under 1ct in terms of their oomph and eye catchingness.

So my vote is the F. ETA: I know diamondseeker said it is smaller, but it is only 0.05mm smaller and for most of us humans, that is totally undetectable to the eye!

Re: And now we're down to the finalist- Which stone do you p

The small crystal or inclusion right at the edge of the table does cause me a little concern too. and .05mm is pretty small, I'm leaning towards the F stone right now.
