Heheheh!!! Yes, there are indeed some crazy laws of this land which may be considered treasonous!!!

ha ha, I am so proud to be British.

It is true, we are a nation of eccentrics.

Apparently it is also legal for a horserider to ask a member of public to hold their horse whilst the rider goes to relieve themselves as well. The member of public is legally obliged to do so. I haven''t tried it yet whilst out riding but I am quite tempted.

This thread and the wonderful one about Royal Jewels has made me so proud of my nationality

I am so tempted to hire a suit of armour next time I go to see my boss (who was poncing about in a load of ermine yesterday
20.gif
) - I wonder if they'd let me in? I'll ask tomorrow.

And I am soooo going to send some letters with stamps upside down on from the House of Lords.
31.gif

Talking of yesterday, I managed to get trapped trying to get to work by the crowds for the State Opening of Parliament - so I thought I'd stand and watch it. Didn't manage to get any pics of the crown Jewels I'm afraid, but it was pretty spectacular.

The police still weren't opening the roads, so I thought I'd cut through Parliament as there was no way down Parliament Square. The guy on the door told me it was clear all the way to Black Rod's Entrance at the far end. When I got to Black Rod's the whole place was full of all the gold coaches and these magnificent and HUGE horses (and lots of men in uniform
31.gif
) and it was blocked off as well. All the doors were blocked by large men with machine guns, so I was truly trapped.

I asked a policeman if I could inch round the walls - exit was only 20 or so metres away - but he said it wasn't worth his job in case I got kicked by a horse. In the end I found a nice young copper and asked him if he knew how I could get out. He got me an armed escort to escort me out of the building and safely across the road!

I LOVE our mad customs and old laws - less keen on the new ones!

Do NOT!!! Ask John Pollard!

On second thoughts don't.... he might agree with you!

Heh, this is entertaining. Call me weird, but if I know a PSer is from England, I "hear" their accent in their posts. I love the British accent!
5.gif
I just have a weird accent.

Lol, that is so cute anchor!

I find it quite odd that I've started talking about 'stores' instead of 'shops', and candy and cookies instead of sweets and biscuits.

I spend waaaaay too much time here obviously!

Knowing these guys? Probably only if they''re in front of Buckingham Palace during the changing of the gaurds, during a full moon in the month of March.
