I've been a lurker for a few months now and wanted to thank all of you cause I gained a bucket load of knowledge and used it to purchase my engagement ring~! Yay! I'll post pictures as soon as my husband gets his high quality camera back that he left in San Francisco... Yes I'm married with an 8 month old already and I JUST got my engagement ring... We went totally backwards! First I had our baby, and THEN I got my wedding band (Which I love~ It's a 1.6 something shared prong eternity band from Tiffany's) and THEN I got my engagement ring (Which is a 3.02 E VS2 RB - currently in a temporary simple solitaire setting.)
I guess I had to prove my love for him by first bearing his child and spending at least 1 year (Well almost) married to him before he would drop that kind of $$$ on me..

Anyway, I will start a new thread with pictures once we get the camera back.. All I have now are grainy pictures from my phone and our regular little camera which cannot take clear close-up pictures for the life of it!

Ok now after my short (somewhat) intro of myself I wanted to get your opinion on something...

Ok so I was reading DIShayley's thread on her search for her ring and I thought I would try to join the search and look up alternatives for her, which led me to SignedPieces.

Which led me to this:

http://signedpieces.com/item.cfm?item_id=7789

Ok so I know its a BIT over her budget, but I like to browse anyway (sue me)... But as I was looking at the ring in detail, something struck me as odd....

Is it JUST me or does that ring look like its NOT from tiffany's? The head looks like a little off?? Or is it angling or is it possible that theres an older version of heads that I'm not aware of??

Any thoughts on this?? Maybe my eye is untrained enough... Well actually I KNOW it's untrained enough cause I dont know much about anything about diamonds......

I am sure someone has posted that exact same ring and had questions about it too. It doesn't have papers or the original box which is strange too. From just looking at the pics, it looks ok, but you can never really be sure until you had it verified at Tiffs.

Authenticiy aside though, it may look different to the Tiffs site, as the rocks they show usually are much larger, the one at signed pieces in 0.75ct, that may account for the difference?

Personally, I would skip the whole Tiffs name and go a replica with a bigger, higher quality stone IMHO.
