me too. We buy bread that we just don''t use right away, so instaed we take it out as we need it. Leaving it out for a few minutes lets it thaw and it tastes great.Date: 11/10/2009 11:27:07 AM

If I think I won''t go through a whole loaf of bread in a week, I keep 1/2 out and freeze the other 1/2. Bread freezes very well and doesn''t taste stale after it thaws out.
i do,but wife always say..."put it back in the frig".Date: 11/10/2009 11:03:47 AM

Keep it out, it tastes better.
I''m with you, HH. Everyone else I know swears it needs to be frozen and not refrigerated, but I"ve been refrigerating bread for years and don''t have any issues.Date: 11/10/2009 2:42:40 PM

Last week Sheldon, from The Big Bang Theory, provided the reason for why bread should not be stored in the refrigerator. It''s because the sugar in the bread becomes brittle, thus changing the texture.
Personally I put my bread in the fridge all the time because I''m the only one who eats it and so it takes forever to go through a loaf. I really really dislike frozen bread and given the reason above, there shouldn''t be a difference between the two texturally. The sugar is still getting cold. Perhaps the taste issue is due to refrigerator smells?
