Am I paying too much for my princess cut diamonds?

I appreciate any feedback.

Fourteen 2.6 mm D/E, VS, .11 CT diamonds for channel setting in a wedding band. Matching lot. (Total carat weight of ~1.54).

$1800.
Is that consistent with the current price per carat going rate?

Thanks!!

Is this price just for the stones or is the band included? Is the band white gold or Platinum?

Sorry for being unclear. The price is just for the stones.

I wish I knew the exact truth about these little squares, but were they rounds, the price should be about $100 apiece.

Does this help ?

I assume then, because the fancy cuts are generally a little less expensive than rounds, the price per stone should be less than $100?

Not sure that this rule holds. There are quite a few factors making this judgement a gray area: for example, sets of small stones like this are usually sold with variable grades (say D-F, VS1-SI1 or so) and only the average (here E-VS2) is stated. If someone took the pain to match the size, cut, color and calrity better than this, than the stones would be more expensive for a good reason.

The price you quote ($130/stone) is not completely crazy - just not a bargain, I would think.
