I know I''m late to this thread, but I wanted to say that I FEEL for you, and I don''t think you were overreacting.

My FIL invited several people to our wedding without our consent. He was extremely rude about so many little details, and there was a point at which I wanted to cut off all ties from him during the planning process. (I''m pretty sure I posted about it here.)

Anyway, I just wanted to say that we got through it all, I always calmed myself down enough to be civil BEFORE I saw my FIL, we had a beautiful, wonderful, breathtakingly meaningful wedding, and I now have a good relationship with my FIL. Believe it or not, there IS life after wedding planning, and people are MUCH easier to get along with.

I''m so glad it worked out for you, and I hope this is the worst you have to deal with!

Anyways 5 mins later his mom called back and said that she called uninvited guest and she (the friend) decided not to come... (a ha...I KNEW she made up the part about already buying the airplane tix and it was just an excuse) So luckily we didnt have to uninvite anyone...

Sounds like deco was right!
