The wedding''s October 4 of this year in the LA area. Just a little over 5 months to go!--and I''m just starting to freak about making sure I''m on track.

This is just for the major things, not the little details...

Done:

1. Booked venue (5/07) - no rentals needed, all provided
--And caterer (rolled in w/ venue)
2. Booked Photogapher (12/07)
3. Bought dress (12/07) (it''s waiting at the shop for my first fitting as we speak)
4. Ordered self-assemble invitations (4/08) will arrive in late May.
5. Booked DJ (2/08)
6. Officiant "booked" (is a family member)

In-progress or coming up within the next two months:

1. Started browsing florists and solidifying ideas, book by ??
3. MOH''s dress fabric will be selected and she will be making her dress
4. Started working on ceremony program
5. Ceremony musicians... Currently looking for a classical guitarist for the ceremony

Will be done/booked in July-August:

1. Hair trial
2. Makeup trial
3. Cake (we''ve begun tastings, though)
4. Engagement photos

Not sure when/how to begin:

1. OOT Accommodation booking (we have a preferred hotel, but how do we know how many rooms to reserve before we get the rsvps? Just estimate, or book all that could possibly be needed?)
2. Tux measuring/etc. for groom and groomsmen?
3. Anything else...?

Sounds like you have everything pretty much covered. Do you have shoes, undergarments etc for yourself? With the oot guests, can you reserve a hotel that you can cancel without penalties? I emailed the shop that D is getting his tux from and they advised me to get their first measurements and pick the outfits that they''re wearing about 5 months before the day (this shop hire the most beautiful mens clothes though so I''d say that''s why they need them to do it so early).

Any photos of the dress fitting?

Thanks bee! And yes, I''m taking a friend to the dress fitting so she will be taking some pictures--yay!!

I''ll have to call our hotel about their room blocks, I haven''t even started looking into that yet. They have a partnership with our venue and run shuttles, so I''d bet they have relatively good policies.

re menswear... I need to tell FI to get on that!!

musey, I just wanted to pop in to reiterate my deep and profound love of your wedding dress...I look at it and sigh "if only..." Simply divine!

Sounds like you''re on track to me!! Congrats on having so much done! You''re around halfway for sure now.

Hey Musey! From another October 4 bride - I think you are on track!! I''ve done about the same stuff as you. However, have you booked your hair/makeup people? I couldn''t tell from what you''ve written whether it is just the trial that you have to book, or if you haven''t booked the hair/makeup people for the actual wedding day.

We have our cake booked, but I admit we did it way early. We also have our room blocks taken care of because there are only a few hotels nearby and we wanted to have it done. Granted - it was the one job I gave my dad, and he wanted to do something! I don''t think you are behind though.

Generally - we are about in the same spot as you! So no worries! I think it will start to get more stressful going forward, but I don''t think you have anything to worry about yet!

Keep updating though and I will do the same to make sure we aren''t falling behind!!!

Awwww YAY thanks surfgirl!! I''ve been feeling some anxiety over it because it just doesn''t look in pictures the way I remember it. Hopefully that feeling will dissipate after my fitting this week...

Anyway, I feel better having people remind me that it is, in fact, lovely

so thank you!

Hi date buddy!

I haven''t done either yet (trial or day)--partly because I still have no CLUE how I want to do my hair! My former stylist recommended I book (her) no more than two weeks ahead, so I''m not feeling too behind. There are a lot of hair and makeup artists to choose from in LA!

Okay good! I wish we could have sticky threads by date/month to check in with each other, though that would get awfully cluttered!

Hi Musey,

As others have said, it sounds like you''re right on track with everything. About the hotel room block, I''d just call the hotel and find out how they do it. At ours, they only let us reserve 15 rooms I think, so far. If it turns out that we need more, they''ll open up more under our names and put those on hold for our guests. I think this is pretty standard, from what I''ve heard.

Looks good to me! I would try to book your florist and makeup and hair soon, but your not late for those. It''s going to be fabulous!!
