Hi! I was just offered a diamond for $3500 GIA certified. I just wanted to ask the awesome people of pricescope if I am getting a good deal. No pictures :( Here are the specs:

Color: G
Clarity: SI2
Cut Grade:Good
Depth: 62
Table: 61
Girdle: SL TK
Culet: None
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.64x6.74x4.16

Check on vendors' sites for comparisons to determine if you can find a stone with similar information at a lower price. You can use "Diamonds Search" under the Pricescope "Resources" tab. I would also look at www.jamesallen.com.. I believe they will give you ASETs on up to 3 stones. They have very competitive prices.

The diamond experts here can give the information about the proportions of your stone etc. Without pictures, it can be difficult, and you should factor that in.

Size? How old is the report - where are all the other numbers? What does the stone *actually* look like, is it actually a modern RB? (GIA has been known to call antiques RBs and assign them cut grades). Have you seen it? Compared it to other stones in the store?

A modern RB w/ cut grade "good" is an automatic pass for me - GIA Ex/Vg are wide enough proportions ranges that there must be something unforgivably fishy to only merit "good", esp since pol/sym are vg. If it's actually an antique that GIA has labelled RB that's a different story.

Carat weight??

I am guessing its around 1.10 from the measurements.

I personally would eliminate it from consideration based on the "Good" cut grade.

That for one- also you have no idea if this SI2 is eyeclean or if the inclusion is prongable
