Am I crazy or has anybody else NAMED their diamond?!

I haven't named mine, but I call most of my rings "she" when talking about them, or referring to them.

Car is Charly (the girl form of Charlie)
Diamond #1 Is named Countess Consuela, a quote from "Freinds" TV show (I left out the Banana Hammock part) hehe
And my most recent upgrade is called Michaela (DH name is Michael and he gave it to me)

I know this thread is old, but I came across it, and found it funny that others have names for their rings too. Mine is called "my precious" and I always say it in the same tone as Gollum from lord of the rings.

I named my emerald cut (1.42 carat, D color) "Old Miss Evil"

I call the Royal Asscher (1.26 carats, D color, VVS2) "The Little King".

Sheldon Sparkle

I love Betty McBlingerton - that is really cute!!!!! My 15 year old son actually named mine Sheldon Sparkle and the name stuck. All my friends know about him and call him Sheldon.

I hadnt.

Just asked husband to name it off the top of his head.

So now it's named Jolene. And I can't get Dolly Parton outta my head.

I named my very first diamond. It was a 2ct OMC that I bought from Grace (that's how we met!) and I named it Moon. It's because I had my daughter, age 2 at the time, on my lap while playing a video clip of the stone. She cried out, "Moon, mama, MOON!" and ever since, Grace and I have affectionately called "him" moon (and yes, the OMC is a "he" - always has been, dunno why...)

I sold Moon, then later bought him back, then just sold him again. I rarely get the chance to wear him and wanted to get him in a good home. He'll be on his way there next week!

My current diamond feels like a Francine...I know not why...

I agree... I agree... I agree.... why to have a gun in a house? For me, it's far from diamond. It's not for play or love, a gun is for kill! I hate guns! Really... Sorry Adelain, don't want to hurt you, it's your carreer but in other occasion, for me, it's no no.

Marksmanship as a hobby is just as valid as diamonds as a hobby and with that out of the way the only diamond that I have with a name is called Ruth after her original owner who was a very special women from my childhood

*lol* fun thread! Her name is Roxy!

Haven't named my stone- BUT I do name other items...

My car- Rhonda (the Honda)
Laptop- Nell (the Dell)
my old laptop - Shiba (the toshiba)

but now I think my stone deserves a name! lol, hmmm

Rhonda the Honda, that's cute. :)

I have Gretta the Jetta. :) I growl when I say it ("Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr-etta") cuz she's sporty and it just suits her.

"Pretty Lil Girl" would probably be the closest thing that I have to a name for my new shiny. Hmmm...I just thought of a real name for her...she shall now be known as Emmy (the emerald cut). I think. I don't know. We'll see if it sticks.

(I guess I got the memo too late on the gun "trade". My hubby bought me three rings a couple of weekends ago and, in exchange, I ended up buying him a gun that weekend as well (not his first). I thought that was a pretty good exchange...)

I call mine Sweet Pea: Miss D
No idea where this came from but it stuck

I haven't named my diamond for some reason. Not sure why, as I tend to name everything else  I did, however name my tourmaline "Pinky"

Jezebel - it should have been my name so instead it will be my diamond/ring's name :naughty:

My car is named "Sparkly", it's license plate says so!

I did not name my stone or ring, but a (male) friend of mine did. The center stone is nearly 4ct (OEC) and in its pave setting, the whole ring is almost 5 ctw. My finger is size 4.5 (sorry, no handshots yet).

My friend has jokingly christened the ring "the pen*s shrinker". Because apparently he feels it is substantial enough to scare men away (or make them feel inadequate?) I'm not entirely clear. But either way, I think it's pretty funny. lol

I have not told DH this, not sure why. lol!

I must admit, mine too is also called "The Precious", spoken in Gollum's voice.
