Jared''s Galleria sent my Scott Kay setting and diamond off to SK to have the prongs fixed and to have the diamond set on 12/17 via UPS 2nd day air. I know SK was closed from 12/24- 1/3 so I know they are backed up from have time off. When I posted on here about the 8 weeks time frame Jared''s gave me for my ring to be repaired and returned and everyone posted that that was too long, I got concerned. I called SK myself on 1/4 and was told that they don''t deal with the consumer, that Jared''s would have to call SK for any info. Called my SA at Jared''s that day and she said she could get back to me with an estimated completion date. I did a follow up call to her on Friday 1/8 and she said that she hadn''t spoken to the "repair liasion" yet but would that day and get back to me.

It''s now Tuesday and I''m a bit annoyed that I haven''t heard back. DH thinks I have every right to call to follow up again, but I feel like I''m just being pushy and impatient. All I want is an estimated completion date (if possible) and confirmation that my diamond and setting did arrive at SK. I know that there''s a chance my ring won''t get back before 2/20, and that''s fine as long as I''m told it''s in good hands. I can''t tell if I''m just being pushy and impatient, or if I have a right to be annoyed at my SA for not getting back to me yet!
 
Uhh, it shouldn''t take longer than 48 hours to get back to you. It''s now well over a week and the SA hasn''t called you back! I''d be on the phone giving her a piece of my mind.

It''s worth a call to your SA.
 
She probably was just very busy over the weekend. Why not just call again to see what''s going on? (I don''t think you''re being impatient.

I think the SA should have returned your call by now. You wouldn''t have to be pushy if they''d called you! I have to say I have not been impressed with the customer service at Jareds at all. Hopefully your ring will be home soon.
 
You initally called on 1/4, she didn''t call... you already followed up on 1/8, she hasn''t called... I would call again.

You got ahold of SK very easily, which means they should be able to as well. If she doesn''t call by this evening, I would call again this week.

With that said, you agreed to their time frame of 8 weeks, when you dropped off the ring, so technically, they don''t have to rush to get your ring back.
 
I would definitely give her another call. It''s been over a week since you first contacted her.
 
I would pop into the store and ask her to call them while you wait.
 
Any chance you could go in there in person? It''s alot harder to ignor a person demanding action than a voice on the phone.
 
I don''t think anyone is going to be as concerned about your ring as you are. For that sales associate, you''re just part of her day and if you need to stay after them, then that''s what you do. I''d call them every day if I had to in order to get an answer.

Definitely. I just want confirmation that SK received the setting and diamond (bad to say, but I don''t 100% trust that Jared''s is doing this correctly...) and if there is an estimated completion date. If SK says 5 more weeks, then cool. I''m just happy to know that it is in their system.

I caved and call yesterday afternoon and spoke to my SA. She gave a couple of reasons as to why she hadn''t gotten back to me and asked me to call her today to remind her.

So I did and left a message with a different SA for her to call me back. That was about 4 hours ago and nothing.

That''s annoying. Can you work with someone else? This person sounds flakey and irritating. I don''t think it''s asking too much to want to know your diamond was received. I''d say it''s time to be the squeaky wheel and pester her. You''re not asking for the moon here!

I agree. She isn''t being very good about returning your call... so if it isn''t that far away - I''d drive in and have her call while you wait in person.
 
Call again... or GO there. How far away is the store?

My experience with Jared, being a chain, they are more interested with the person that is physically IN their store than they are with retaining repeat customers. I would go in person.

Update! Woot! Woot!

Just spoke to my SA and SK did receive the setting and diamond! And the setting can be repaired no problem. They gave Jared''s a 2 weekish time frame from today. I''m not going to have a high expectation of it being done in exactly two weeks because SK did say they were swamped from being closed over the holidays. The repair liasion asked if it could be rushed and SK said no due to being behind. I don''t want it rushed because I want it done right but I do appreciate them atleast asking.

Anyway, hopefully by the end of January, early Feb!
