Wedding alternatives to veil/no veil

My FI doesn''t like veils, but I wanted something bridal and special at least for the ceremony. Has anyone seen any other alternatives to veils, such as headwraps, hats, etc? I''d love ideas! Thanks ladies!

There are hats with bird cage veils or tiaras, but could you compromise on something like the veil below?

I love the feather/fascinator look, but don''t want it sticking out of my head-- I have VERY thin hair.

I like the ribbon look brazen_irish posted, but don''t think I''d have enough hair to pull it off unless the hairdresser weaved some fakey into mine.

Oh! I just love that one that you posted misysu2, it''s wonderful! I have thick hair but I think I would still worry about it kinda just sticking out of my head..... however, I think you''ll never know if you don''t try it! So if you think you would like it, I say buy it (or one similar thats not as much money in case it doesn''t work out) and take it to a hair stylist and see what they can do with your hair to make it seem fuller!

Misysu2: I really like the Etsy side/mini veil. that''s acctually what i was coming here to suggest! it''s GREAT! It''s almost classic to, 20''s-30''s era vibe.

I really like this Etsy "veilette" better than anything I''d seen so far. I''d like to wait until my dress comes in next month to make a final decision. I know the dress store is going to throw some long, traditional veils at me and I''m not going to like them.

If I went with this mini-veil, do you think I should wear my hair simply? Down? Up? I like the look near the back of the head crown, not so much the side look. However, I like that it gives me lots of flexibility! My dress has a little more detail to it and I''m wearing that cameo pendant with it, so i don''t want to overpower my statement.

I really like the mini viels over little chigons (spelling?!) at the back of the head, not at the nape of the neck, but not way on top either. It that makes sense...
There are also some really nice ones on theknot.com, i know i knwo everyone here dislikes the site, but it really has some great ideas.

I really like that big flower clip! I''ll have to run these by FI to see if he feels strongly against them. I know he was for me just wearing a fresh flower in my hair, which is fine, but not so bridal to me.

hi missy, i thought i would give you a couple pics. one of my hair, and one with a birdcage veil. i just wore it for a little while, then took it off. it was fun and i am glad i bought it.

Both of those clips were from theknot.com.. under Gowns, just go to accessories.
There is only 12 pages so it''s quick to go through them all.
And no problem!

I really like the one from etsy too! This is what I had, but smaller (I got it in a 4" size, I think this pic is like 7"). I don''t have any pics of myself wearing it tho since I haven''t got my pro pics back yet. I wore it for the reception. I also was going to put a circle of veiling (tulle or the russian/french veiling) behind it, but in the end I didn''t. Remember if you find a nice flower/pin/etc hairpiece you can always add feathers or veiling to it to your taste.

It actually looks much nicer in person than the pics...

Argh! FI didn''t like the miniveil. He says veils look like mosquito netting! And he didn''t like the feathers! I made him show me what he likes, and it looks like he likes the hair comb route. Something flashy!! It never ends with us...
