Okay I''ve run the gamut from G to K and VVS to SI2 and I think (hope) I have settled on a happy medium of size v color v clarity (cut being non-negotiable of course!!!)

So please I would love everyone''s opinion before I pull the trigger! I especially want to thank strmrdr and JulieN thus far for their educative responses. Oh thank you so much!!! This means a lot to me coming from you two! I am thinking of a modern kind of setting either the Kretchmer Omega or recently I saw a photo of Sienna's ring when she was engaged to Jude Law. Like that but ONE rock not 9 or whatever horrible combo Jude gave her! hee hee!!!

You know this is a classic story of shrinkage before the fact: I started looking at .3-.5ct can you believe? look, LOOK where I ended up!! I am LMAO!! (my poor dh isn''t, hee, hee!)

strmrdr! thanks! as I said - I''m a long time lurker and I really value your input. In fact your comments on a previous thread of mine really made me research color and size - I''m so glad I did I don''t think I would have been happy with the lower colors I was looking at.. Is this IS a classic? I really don''t know enough except to be able to tell a painted (possibly) stone.

StoneHunter - thanks for chiming in. btw I absolutely adore cushions. They were my first pick but dh couldn''t seem to get on board. Then it just seemed easier hunting down a RB, lotsa information! blimey I feel like I''m on speed, type, type type!!!! (can you tell my Mom''s a Brit?)
