Tawn:

You are such a sweetheart and you have been hanging around here for a long time! I would like to know more about you! Please share with us what you feel comfortable with........

I agree Heather. Tawn you are such a sweet person. I''d love to know more about you also!

I''ll have to think of something (or make something up) in the next few days!
2.gif
I''m picking my husband up at the airport in a few hours...so I have to go shave my legs and clean my diamonds!

Don''t forget funny, too! We''d love to hear more about you...

What I know about Tawn:

She''s a gorgeous blonde, she''s got a magnificent Halo ring from WF, she''s got kids, and something about motorcycles!

Adding on to Jelly''s list:

Tawn''s a Canadian, she''s a shy and gentle soul (but watch out if you mess with her family!!
2.gif
), she has one son, I think her DH is a police officer, and as FireGoddess said, she is very funny!

Hmmm...if I try to tell my life''s story, I''ll be here for days! So, just some pertinent facts!

34.gif

Born: 1969 British Columbia, Canada (Which makes me a very immature 37!)

Live: San Diego, CA

Parents: The wonderful kind people in the pic, which has saved me money since I didn''t have to go into therapy to deal!

Sibling: An older brother, who sadly drowned in 1992..still pretending he''s on vacation becaue it''s easier. Need therapy!

Extended Family: Huge and eccentric! My mom was 1 of 14 kids, and my Aunts are closer in age to me, so it''s cool for me!

Niece: My brother had a daughter, and she''s a 17yr-old clone of me...just prettier! She is super extra precious to us!!

Child: 12 yr-old son Smiley Ryley, who is the light of my life! Does well at everything he does. Always has a smile on his face!

Husband: The 33 yr-old younger man, because the rotten bugger lied about his age, but I found him out when I had to buy the beer!! Not a cop, and I''m actually not allowed to say what he really does, partly because I don''t really know! It''s top secret and I''d have to have you all taken out if I told! He''s from Boston, is a little obnoxious but charming at the same time! Still love him...after almost 15yrs together! We had 3 rough years and I thought I hated him for awhile, but he somehow convinced me that I still loved him and couldn''t ever be happy without him! Seriously, he''s always been persistent that there has just been no getting rid of him no matter how hard I''ve tried! (Secretly I''m glad, but I''ll deny it if anyone tells him!)
2.gif

Friends: Small group of loyal friends that I tend to keep forever! If they need something fixed or help, they call me!?

The Important Stuff: My family is the most important thing! Then diamonds, and having a cool (and obsessively clean) comfortable home! Cooking hearty meals! Finding pants that are long enough because I''m tall! Baths...and shopping! Motorcycle riding (street & dirt) is my family''s favorite thing to do, and I''m having a bit of trouble (which means I''m getting an ulcer) from watching Ryley on his bike!

Hmmm...that about wraps it up! I''ll be happy to answer any questions after the commercial break!

My family has never really fully recovered, because it''s never been complete since. Thank goodness for my niece, because that''s our piece of him! He would have been 40 this year...so my Mom is having a really rough time.

I met my husband in a bar! I know, how cliche! I was in my dark phase after my brother''s death, and on a man-hating binge after a very lengthy and bad relationship. I had just graduated from college, and my girlfriend and I were at this really cool place in Nova Scotia with a bunch of theme bars that all branched out from a huge main bar in the middle sort of like a wagon wheel. All of a sudden, it was filled with hundreds of drunk American sailors...and they were nasty and we even got flashed by some really gross guy. So we were trying to make our way out and this guy grabs my hand, starts shaking it and doing the big introduction...and the very first thing I ever said to him was, "F off"!

It didn''t faze him whatsoever, and he told us he would keep the other guys away if we''d let him (and friends) sit with us. My friend liked him, and we let him...but he liked me and was completely relentless! He told me that he was going to marry me and I thought he was hilarious and wasn''t really interested in him at all! He kept calling after he got home ($700 worth), and then told me he was going to send me plane tickets to visit him in Boston. I didn''t believe him, but Fedex came knocking on the door, and away I went against the better judgement of my friends! Fell madly in love and went to Italy with him for a year!

He got out of the Navy, we had our son, bought a house, and got married! In that backwards order!

Not a romantic story at all! But, he still thinks that the first thing I said to him is hilarious!

OMG Tawn I used to party in those same bars in Halifax!!!! That''s too funny!
9.gif

Well, I must give your DH an A+ for tenacity!! Talk about love at first sight for him!

O.K. Next ? - where did you spend a year in Italy?

Tawn
Your parents are soooo gorgeous. I''m sorry about your brother, having lost mine I know how you feel. My brother would have been 50 this year. I do miss him terribly. I know you have a terrific son. Tell us more about him if you want. He''s a tad younger than my son I think??

Tawn, first off I am so sorry about your brother. tragedies at a young age are so senseless. I am glad your neice is a special part of him for all of you.

Your son sounds amazing. Love him up all the time, I am sure you do, and you will always see him smile!

I loved your old avatar...you are a lovely woman and I like seeing pictures of the people here, makes a nice connection to things.

Your parents are so incredible looking. Sort of the Natalie Wood/James Dean types...could have been movie stars!!

Tawn, that''s an incredibly romantic story about how you met. It sounds as if your husband knew from the beginning you were the one!

I''m also sorry to hear about your brother. I remember some posts about your jewelry-loving niece!

You sound like one lucky gal to have such a close family.

Costa Smeralda la maddalena..Costa Smeralda means the Emerald Coast, and La Maddalena is a teeny little island off the east coast of almost parallel with Rome.

It''s beautiful...and I have some pictures which I can hunt down and scan tomorrow if you want to see my pregnant belly in them!

My mom is my favorite person and we talk almost everyday (I have unlimited calling to Canada!), and I feel so badly for my girlfriends that have such huge issues with their mothers! She had a tough tough childhood, and it should have ruined her...but she decided that she was going to move forward and make sure that her children had good lives! She''s my hero!
36.gif

I know my niece has her pic posted all over the net, since she''s done a bit of modeling...so I''ll try to find one where she doesn''t look as much like her so she doesn''t get stalked! This is a pretty old pic (2-3yrs) when she came down to CA for spring break! I had my hair cut shorter, and my husband begged me to grow it longer!

The "F" bomb was the key to my husband''s heart!

Okanogan Valley which is where so many Albertans spend their summers! Most of my mom''s family are in Alberta, mostly around Edmonton and I even have an Aunts in Vegreville and as far north as Cold Lake!

Ryley is officially 12.5 now, and spent the day out in the desert riding motorcycles. I went along and have a sunburnt face, even though I put sunscreen with Zinc on!! I slathered him up as well, but he''s so fair-skinned and his face is all brown and freckly and his eyes look soooo blue!

My husband and our neighbor decided to go riding for the first time today, and all the boys had a total blast. Fortunately for me, I couldn''t see them riding up the hills...and I actually took an ant-acid before we went! He did awesome with his new bigger bike and my husband was ridiculously proud of him! Testosterone is such a mystery to me! Our neighbor is a skilled rider and gave him lots of good tips and pointers!

They call him the "Mayor" in the neighborhood, because he''s always where the action is, and he''s the diplomat and the champion of all the little kids! When he''s in a group, all you can hear are the other kids trying to get his attention..."Ryley, Ryley, Ryley" The comment we always hear about him is how happy he is! It''s just his nature I think, since he started out that way as a baby!

This picture is somewhere else in the PS archives...but I''ll post it again! This was a day or two after we got home from the hospital, so he''s around 8-9 days old!

I go to Kelowna several times a year, and my mom and I keep trying to find the time to do one of the winery tours! This summer maybe! I LOVE it there!!

We own a house several hours straight south of the border from there, and they''re starting to plow under the apples and plant more grapes down there as well!

Hi Tawn,

I don''t usually respond to these Who''s Who''s (not for lack of interest, but often because I don''t know what to say) but I felt compelled to say hello to you here. I got such a kick out of reading your/your hubby''s get-together story. You are a very pretty woman and you look so very much like one of my mom''s good friends (thus my friend, too). You are both the same age and seem to have the same spunky personality. I don''t get to see her much since she moved to Florida but everytime I see your avatar on here I think of her.

Thanks for sharing more about YOU and your story.

That''s sort of funny that you said she''s in Florida because about 2 months ago, a waitress was convinced that I was her friend from Florida that she hadn''t seen in a few years! Wonder if it''s the same person...she''s supposed to be a personal trainer, but I can''t remember what the name was. The waitress stared at me the whole meal...it was weird!

The Grand is a pretty nice hotel/casino, and there are lot of little restaurants, bars, etc close by. It''s on the lake just down from the downtown area, and if you haven''t been there before, the main street ends on the beach. They have live entertainment downtown on the weekends in the summer and there are street vendors and all sorts of little shops! Carmels is a great restaurant that''s been around forever...and they make fantastic desserts!

It''s just such a beautiful area, especially if you like the water, and you might see the lake monster, Ogopogo! Take a drive north towards Vernon, and take a look at Kalamalka lake (which is the lake of many colors), and some days it''s spectacularly colored everything from torquoise to dark blue. It''s supposed to be a really hot dry summer this year, so bring your sunscreen!

I''ll be heading that way as well, but probably not until July. We''re selling a house we have over the US border...so it probably won''t be a really fun trip! Ick...

Thanks tawn!!!! I will definitely follow up on your recommendations!
