Does anyone have info about jewelery by Alfred Butler? I found a piece by that company, but can''t find much about the quality of their workmanship or stones. Thanks!

Also, what are benefits of buying a 14k white gold ring as opposed to an 18k ring (besides price)?

There is a nice amount of info on www.alfredbutler.com about this NYC firm. Photos of their merchandise look very clean and tailored rather than ornate. It looks like a very traditional US manufacturer of the upper range in quality. They were making nice things long before a "designer" designation made a difference.
