Alexandrite fake?

Hello, last year I acquired through catawiki a small alexandrite with an IGI India certificate. It's 0.59 carats and goes from green to a purplish red, but since it doesn't change much in sunlight or when photographed with a basic compact camera I'm worried it may be fake. What do you think? At the moment I don't have much money to have it retested

It does say 'faint colour change effect' on the certificate. The colour looks right for a chrysoberyl.

It's likely real. But it doesn't have desirable colors for alexandrite. Ppl want green to purple/red, and this is bluish to brownish. So not likely to be fake given that it wouldn't be worth much with the colors.

You can ge it tested but that may cost you more than you paid for the stone.

The colour is green and goes to purplish red tbh, those pics are not very accurate

As you are in the EU there is no customs issues which makes it much easier.
You just have to bare the shipping costs.
