AGS000 vs. GIA Excellent

If you''ve seen my other threads then you know i''m actively shopping for a loose diamond for an engagement ring. i want to get a diamond with a superior cut and specs within a budget and wanted to know if someone had a choice which diamond certification is of choice AGS or GIA?

Just from my limited experience ive noticed that there are A LOT more GIA certified diamonds out there. Are the AGS000 more sought after and should I make an extra effort to get an AGS000 diamond over a GIA excellent?

ags0 and gia EX are just a starting point.
When buying from a vendor that provides IS and ideally heart images either is fine.

i know the depth, table, crown & pavillion angle.. color, clarity all are important.. i just watned to see what certs are sought after in the industry and if i should spend extra time and effort trying to get an AGS000

There tends to be a premium for AGS and it is a smaller niche lab, so not as many stones especially online.
GIA excellent can be way too deep and leaky, but if you use HCA under Tools > Cut adviser and stay no higher than the aGS range on each chart for table size you can do OK

When buying with no other info AGS0 is safer, but when buying with the amount of information the better PS vendors(GOG,niceice,Wink,JA,WF) provide it dont make a lot of difference.
