Hi everyone, just been lurking and trying to learn. I found these two diamonds by searching for for AGS0 and cut rank Excellent here on Pricescope. They score 0.8 and 0.9 on HCA and are listed as AGS0, but their GIA grading reports list their cuts only as Very Good, not Excellent. I understand that AGS and GIA use different standards, but is this something I should worry about? And can they really be considered AGS0 diamonds, if there isn''t an AGS grading report saying so?

Thanks in advance for your help!

These stones were graded by GIA, not AGS, so they can''t be AGS0. They are also not JA Signature Select and are part of a "virtual" network of stones more than one supplier can get their hands on. None-the-less, GIA Very Good cuts can be quite beautiful and just because they didn''t receive the Excellent cut grade, they should not necessarily be thrown out of consideration. JA can call these stones in for you and have them evaluated. I''d want an Idealscope at a minimum and if you are satisfied, you can have one or both sent to an appraiser for final inspection.

I know most everyone seeks perfection. Just don''t completely discount the fact that Very Good cut stones can be a great value and far more beautiful than most inferior cut stones you''d find in the average B&M.

Good Luck

they are not ags0 and can''t be considered as such without the grading report. the first one *could* be close but the second, not so much. if you are seriously considering either of these you should ask for idealscope images.
