They have guts.
GIA will be able to release their system now

Any news from the AGS conclave on the ASET scope?

Garry,

Could you clarify the contents of this post?

Can someone explain to me what this might mean to a consumer like me-- someone shopping for an ideal cut RB this year ? In other words, is it better to find something now or wait until the new system is in place (or will it not effect pricing/appraisals/etc)?

Paul I think GIA have been hoping someone else will release a new system before them and take some heat.

As you well know -cutting to these new HCA type proportions where the crown and pavilion combinations vary is very very difficult.

BlueDawg if you have been using the aids here on pricescope lke HCA and ideal-scope in your purchasing decisions then you should already have new AGS 0 and you would definietly have GIA Excellents

Would this still be considered under the new AGS 0 rating? It is an AGS 0 now.

Depth %: 61.5%
Table %: 57%
Crown Angle: 34.5
Pavillion Angle: 40.9

Thanks,

In the cutting guidelines, this is an area where grade 0, 2 and 3 all border. (is this correct English?)

If you have a highly symmetrical stone, and your cutter knew how to work with the minor facets, it might well be a future AGS-0. On the other hand, there is also a great chance of it being an AGS-3.

Sorry, but that is the best that we can say.

Live long,

give us an ideal-scope image and we will be able to make a very decent stab
