Hi....I am buying my first diamond and have a question regarding the cert.
I have found 2 fairly equivalent stones: both are round brilliant, F VS2, AGS 0 rating, about 1.75 ct. Equivalent girdles and flourescence. Crown and pavillion angles, table and depth are not equal, but substantially equivalent such that they generate equal HCA ratings.
A local store offers this stone for about $5000US more than bluenile.com
On bluenile, they show the AGS cert and it is rated AGS 0.
My question is----are all AGS certs equal? Does it matter who is selling the stone? My local jeweler has 3 gemologists on staff.......
At this point, what possible things am I overlooking which could drive price? Local guy making a killing on me vs bluenile??? Or bluenile stone not what it is being advertised as?
Thanks in advance for your help.
