I"m still waiting to see what the stone looks like in daylight before I make up my mind. I"m definitely leaning towards a decision, but I'd love any honest input.
I think the color is gorgeous. I can't tell much about the cut because the glow of the stone kind of blurs the details...but I think the cut is less important than that color. Is it what you were expecting?
And I love the Art Nouveau look of the JKT pendant. Now that I'd love to see neck shots of!
The cut may not be the best but it doesn’t bug me as much because it’s not terribly off. It also helps that the colour and saturation looks good. If your pictures are accurate, I see both orange and pink without much browning. The price isn’t outrageous either and it comes with an AGL cert, so no worries there.
Fantastic! We have had this discussion before about what a pad color should be/look like. The professionals like Richard Wise and Zeolite say it's more of a blending of the colors into one single mixed color comprised of pink and orange where as others say you need to be able to see both pink and orange seperately at the same time. Both are correct. I like and prefer being able to see both pink and orange seperately and that is more towards my understanding of a padparadscha color. Personally I think having two sererate colors(orange and pink) is better and more special than having just one monotone mixed color(orangish-pinkish mix). I see both orange and pink in the stone so it's right up my alley and as long as no BE has been done I think the color and type supercedes the cut any day. Well done and great buy MTG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the color is great and clearly this is about color. Cut of this level of off-ness (for lack of a better term) only bothers me in photos and almost never IRL. I'd be thrilled!
Hi MTG - I'm going to be very honest with you. I think I purchased this stone and returned it. If it wasn't that one then it was most definitely it's twin (AGL, carat weight etc etc). On the one I had, the colour is gorgeous but the cut (bow tie and window) was going to drive me mad. I lived with it for a few days before making up my mind. Good luck making your decision. I can understand the attraction and know it'll be a tough decision!
I have to say, for the colour, I would accept (and be thrilled with) the cut. My ruby has a bit of an off-center culet, but I hardly notice it due to the colour!
I think the color is saturated and pretty. As to the cut... it will be possible to cover it in a strategically made ring, or so I hope. Congratulations!
