After an exhaustive search of diamonds, I finally made the purchase. I had 8 Emerald cut stones available for viewing and this blew the competition away. While I paid a premium for an internally flawless stone with a G color, the cut sealed the deal. While I was looking for a stone in the colorless grade range the G faced-up without a hint of color when set in platinum. I honestly haven''t seen a Emerald that could compare in brilliance. The ring weight is 1.61 cts with two baguette stones (.23 ct) and 10 (.22ct) princess cut diamonds in the band. I can''t wait to give it to her in October. I will post pictures when she receives it.
