I''m not sure if this has been posted about, didn''t find a post recently at least...
Anyways, after your wedding was over were you able to sell off things like excess candles, centerpiece holders... um... excess anything you may have leftover? Things you may have made, silk flowers maybe, ribbon... dresses, shoes, earrings... you name it? Does anyone have a big blowout sale like that? Or do you just call it a day and move on? Maybe sell the dress etc.
For example I''m doing a pretty styllized theme wedding. I stole an idea from Martha Stewart weddings about using vintage silverplate teapots for centerpieces. Including using creams, sugars and finger bowls, all vintage matching. I spent months on ebay purchasing these items and polishing them. They go well with a variety of themes and we removed the lids to make it easier for flowers. That would be a good item for example to sell to a future bride. I know there are a lot of sites out there but is there an easy way to do it versus ebay or something?
Like maybe in your area a Northern Callifornia Bridal Garage Sale or something fun like that? Get brides together and do a big sale that people can walk through and buy from? Just a thought... (Gypsy this is what i was talking about in that earring thread)....
Think how much easier life would be to just buy what you wanted for your theme/decor in bulk or in person! Another idea is to put together kind of a package of a ''how to'' of your wedding... some people may really love the look and feel and you could a) sell them some of the pieces and pb)rovide them with a booklet on how you put it all together.
Just some random thoughts I''m throwing around since so many of us have spent a lot of time putting things together for our weddings. Who knows for example, I may have 50 non-used pairs of lovely ribboned, sized and tagged flip flops that someone else could use instead? Think of the work saved there!
I''d totally be into organizing something like that in this area if other people wound up with excess items and would be interested. I know a friend recently was going through this same thought process after their July wedding.
