I have to thank all you PS peeps, you guys really helped out a lurker here. I was just about ready to settle with a BM store and pick out whichever diamond they had - and this included which was the cheapest, largest looking, with inclusions that I could not particularly see or were on the perimeter. Those were my only 3 parameters for looking for the right diamond ring. I didn''t even care for the setting and I figured a cheap $250 WG 4 or 6 prong would be adequate!
Boy.... things changed!
Now, I am a cut fan! I realized that cut is a very important aspect to the stone, though perhaps not the most important C, but a C that should not be overlooked IMO! I still think that sheer carat is most important, but not at the cost of a very poor cut and I am a proponent of scaling down on size to get a better cut. I am now in the camp that believes that a HIJ are good colors to have provided an excellent/ideal cut can be had. And I also believe that eye clean is the way to go with my budget.
So, I ended up with a 1.15 ACA RB JSI1 from WF! I am receiving it tomorrow and am looking forward to step 1 of the e-ring.
The next step is to send it to Pearlman''s where Julian is waiting for my stone to have it placed in a Ritani Endless Love Halo RB setting. I am not in a rush as I do not plan on giving it for a few months, but I always like to be ahead of the curve and have everything ready, budgeted, and allocated for.
I am not one to pay via credit card so I am saving up for each step as they come...
I am very happy I found PS and the scores of threads that are archived here for they have saved me a TON of money. I found the right stone and the right setting at a price that is far less than I would''ve spent on a poorer ring/setting combo!
Thanks!!!
I plan on posting pics as they come...
