AER.com setting w/ whiteflash diamond

Hi, I''m very seriously considering a setting from http://antiqueengagementrings.com/ and have found a perfect diamond at Whiteflash. So my three questions are:

1) The mounting is described as accommodating a 5.5 to 6.0 mm stone (roughly .60-.80). The measurement of the .61 stone are 5.45-5.48X3.35. I just want to be super sure this wouldn''t cause a problem, would it?

2) I''ve heard some good things about AER.com but also have experienced the fact that I don''t think a email will ever be answered. Are these people as allusive by phone? It seems strange not to answer emails when the business allows you to purchase online...maybe they only communicate upon purchasing.

3) From a quality and liability perspective, who would be best to set the diamond? AER, whiteflash, local merchant?

Not sure if Whiteflash will use other''s settings, but I''d prefer to send the setting to them and have them do the work (and thus take liability for the stone)...others can chime in I''m sure

I''d have ERD send the setting to WF and have them set it. It''s odd that you haven''t received a reply email. they have always been very quick to return emails I have sent. A phone call is always a good idea, emails can get lost in spam filters, cyberspace etc.

Thank you! Yes the nonresponse has seemed odd as I have now sent three emails on various topics spread over the course of 2-3 months. This has happened with other online vendors but I wasn''t in absolute love with anything they had so it was easy to dump them from further consideration.

I would call them on the telephone and see what happens then. BTW, I think the others who replied thought you were talking about ERD.com-EngagementRingsDirect.com. You''re talking about AntiqueEngagementRings.com, right?

I''ve heard good things about them, but I think if you don''t get a reply to an e-mail you should always call. It could have gone to their spam filter or maybe they are out of town and it says so on their voicemail.

I think you should talk to a jeweler about whether or not the diamond will work in the setting. I know it''s always best not to put a diamond in a setting that is too large or too small for it, but it is a tiny difference so it might be fine.

I''m not sure about who you should have set the diamond. Probably Whiteflash?

guilty..i miss-read the title as Engagementringsdirect not antiqueengagmentrings.com.

but my advice remains the same. give them a call and have WF set the diamond..

Don''t know about AER.com, but in my experiences online vendors will be as nice and helpful as they can... until you send the money! This is generally when getting answers out of them is like pulling teeth! But that is just my 2 cents...
