Hello, this is my first post and I just wanted to start by saying hi to everyone who might read this thread. I found this forum while I was searching for a place where people discuss diamonds, and this seems to be the best spot. I noticed many people like myself here who aren''t diamond experts by any means, and just like me, they were baffled by all the info needed to make an informed decision when buying a diamond. Afetr reading some of the threads here, I decided to check out some of the websites people have mentioned on this forum. I went to goodoldgold, bluenile, and whiteflash. I think I found the stone I want, and I just wanted to know if it''s a good buy or if I could do better. Also, I would appreciate any other info you might have on what could be a problem with the diamond I''ve selected. Thanks again.

When you say "Ideal cut" I would imagine this stone has an AGS cert with those crown and pavillion angles included? Those make the cut "ideal" aside the other specs listed and are the most important for the brilliance (sparkle, light return, however you choose to call those) of the stone. If you passed by GOG's, sure you know what I mean

If you are willing to pay for an "ideal cut", you may as well get all the data that make an ideal look it's best. Polish and symmetry is not going to make a lot of difference above VG, the rest of the cut parameters (crown and pavilion angles, as well as minor facets layout) will...

Aside this: no comment on those promissng numbers, I guess.

In order to assess the diamond you listed, we would need the crown and pavilion angles. Depending on the site you found it on, they may actually list it on the site. If not, you may want to call the vendor and get the numbers from the Sarin report. The numbers you gave so far look like the diamond may be a good performer but unless the crown and pavilion are provided ... we can't tell.

Also, the price you listed seems just a tad high. I did a search on pricescope linked at the top of this webpage and think I found your stone ranging from $3070 to $3126. To get the lower rate, you need to mention that you found it from Pricescope.

thanks for the info. I realy appreciate the help. as for the crown and pavillion angles, i checked out the link for the gia report on whiteflash, and they only had one page of the report (the page that lists the numbers i posted). I guess i'm gonna have to call them to find out the angles, and I'll post them sometime tomorrow. again thanks alot for the help.
