advise on engagement ring

Hi, My fiance' to be and I have purchased a 1.93 VS1, F, Asscher diamond and are now looking for a setting. We like the setting below but want to spend 2-3K on a setting. We like the delicacy of hand manufactured settings like Leon Merge' makes with split prongs but fear it may be out of our range. An alternative may be a more simple setting with 2 baguettes on the sides and no traps. A cast setting may be an option but we don't like some we have seen because they seem to be a bit clunky. I'm wondering if a hand manufactured setting can be mated to a cast band? Any advice would be appreciated as I need to get this done on the next month or two.

I think you could get a cast setting to look reallh nice and not. I'd contact engagement rings direct see what they can do for your budget. Proportionate side traps and bullets will be expensive. You won't be able to accomplish that on a 3k budget with hand forged. In not sure how far your budget will go with cast, but you won't know until you reach out to some vendors. Erd would be my first inquiry

Honestly, you have bought a very nice stone and I would want it set in a handforged setting. Victor Canera or Steven Kirsch. I'd set in a simple cheap white gold solitaire for now and wait to save for the setting you really want.

But if you go ahead, ERD is a good choice.

OP, since you really seem to want the handforged piece, I would take DS's advice and get it when you can save for it.
