Below are what I like so far. I however don''t know which one is best for its price. I try to keep my budget at 4000~ for the best possible 1 carat princes diamond. We already picked out the setting. How much is reasonable to have a jeweler put them together? Actually, how to find a reliable experienced, skill jeweler to do so?

Thank for your advices/helps in advances

(Somehow I couldn''t get a direct link to diamond.com stones)

Sorry, no way to tell the cut performance of a Princess Cut from the numbers. Might be good or bad. We will need images, preferably ASET image. BlueNile will not be able to supply them, no idea if diamond.com can or not.

Hi Newbie,

Regrettably all the numbers give are a chalk outline of fancy shapes, so we really can't judge any Princess properly without ASET or Idealscope images and photographs. Unfortunately BN do not offer such services so in my opinion it is really buying blind without as there is so much info we are missing. They do have a good return policy if you want to take the chance on one.

If you give us an idea of budget and your requirements, we could suggest some diamonds you might like?

This page explains about ASET and Idealscope images and their importance.

Thanks. I basically try to get the best 1 carat princes diamond with 4000$, with color G or above, and clarity SI1 or above and very good cut. Where do I shop that will provide ASET image? I welcome any diamond suggestions you might have.

These vendors have ASET images linked to their in house stones

A well cut 1ct G color is going to be difficult for that budget. If you are open to it, try looking at stones just under the 1ct mark. Once mounted, no one will be able to tell the size difference and you avoid the price jump that happens at 1ct.

EDT: If you have someone that is good at judging photos looking, www.jamesallen.com can provide Idealscope images on request, they aren't quite as good as ASET for princess, but can still tell a lot. If jstar is around and sees this thread, she is really good at picking promising princess stones from photos.

Look nice, a bit yellow in the center. I would like to get her 1 carat though. I am willing to spend up to 5k but not over. I tried to search whiteflash. How do you search the diamonds which have ASET, IdealScope on their site? Look like only AGS diamonds have those reports...More complicate than I thought :)

Only those stones they have in-house have ASET. Any that do not have is from a general pool of stones shared between merchants and they will have to bring it in for a look see.

The diamond is F color so there is no way that the yellow in the image is the diamond. That is most likely a result of ambient colors being reflected in the diamond. F is totally colorless when graded properly.
