I am finally getting close to buying a ring online, I have narrowed it down to three rings, just waiting on information from a couple of dealers before i make my decision. I just had a general question regarding buying a ring and getting it shipped to Canada.
1. Is it always recommended to get the ring appraised locally when the ring arrives? (I am looking at two AGS certified diamonds and one GIA). Wink is one of the people, Angra is another one) - the diamonds I am looking at are all Ideal/Excellent cut diamonds, appear to be top quality.
2. What information do I need for insurance purposes? Two of the companies have mentioned that there is documentation for insurance purposes provided. I think Wink/Infinity Diamonds actually provide insurance, but if i have to eventually get insurance locally, I am reading that I may need an Canadian/international appraiser (at least that's what I am reading in the archives on PS) or will the documentation provided suffice?
3. If the diamond does not already have it, is it worthwhile getting an inscription put on the diamond (I have read that some diamonds have their certificate number or an unique number on it).
I think that's all i can remember for now, any advice, tips, comments will be very helpful.
Thanks in advance!
