Advice regarding diamond size to use on a halo

After a long search I scored:




She's not small at 15 by 25mm.

I'm going to halo her but do you ladies (and gents) think 1.5mm diamonds will make the ring unmanageable?

Shall I be cheap and cheerful at 1mm melee?

I think 1-1.2mm melee will frame it really nicely.

I vote 1.3 mm. Rose gold. I think that is 7 to 8 li diamonds.

Why not draw it out to scale on graph paper with different size diamonds, and see what looks best?

We did this when we were setting our tanzanite pear as a pendant. To us any diamond size below 15% of the pear width looked too small, and anything over 20% looked too big. After that it was just zeroing in on the exact size DW preferred.
