Hi Im new to this. Researching to buy that ideal rock for engagement. Im contemplating between the two stones below. Advice greatly appreciated.

It''s basically a trade off between size and colour.

The dept and table % differs slightly too but its still within the acceptable range.

What would be JA''s equivalent of WF''s ACA H&A be? Thanks!!

In this case, I would go with the E. They're basically the same size, you won't be able to see the difference, looks great, too. And it's cheaper. Unless Whiteflash has the setting that you want, then I'd go with the G. If you want more size, drop to H/I SI.

Hey thanks for the input.

WF''s diamond belongs to its ACA H&A collection whereas the ''E'' colour rock is from JA''s round ideal selection. Would that be a drastic difference?

no, not really. both have great pics and proportions.

Here are the HCA for the two rocks. Advice?

0.75 carat E diamond
Factor Grade
Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Very Good
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good
Total Visual Performance 1.5 - Excellent
within TIC range

0.788 carat G diamond
Factor Grade
Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good
Total Visual Performance 1.1 - Excellent
within TIC range

No, you are very unlikely to see a difference between a G and H.

Do u think i should go for the G VS2 0.78 carat or the H VS2 0.82 carat?

I''d go with the H. It will be fine.

You cant go wrong with a WF ACA and yes, the ACA H will face up just as white as the ACA G. I cannot tell the difference in person when I got my ACA from WhiteFlash.

Diamonds are color graded face down, not face up.

My suggestion would be to look at the .85 and above ACA (under 1 carat) because it will look like a 1 carat diamond. The ACA is so well cut that it gives the appearance of a larger diamond. More BANG for your buck!!!

Good Luck

hi thanks for the feedback.

What would be a nice setting for the rock? I was thinking something simple and sleek which will accentuate the diamond.

Pop by a jeweller in town just now and was told that platinum will dull with time whereas white gold turns yellow. Is tht true? If thts the case, whats the premium in platinum?

Some may say Platinum gets "dull" over time, others prefer to call it a "patina", and like the look. WG has a coating (Rhodium) over it to make it that bright white. It does eventually wear off, but it varies from person to person (has to do with body chemistry, cleaning solvents (amonia is harsh on it) etc.). There's a steep premium on Platinum. Just go to a vendor site and look at setting prices between the two.

You can do a search on here for the two metals, lots of threads about it.

As far as what setting, from what you say you'd like, you can't go wrong with a simple Tiffany setting. It will definitely look pretty, yet showcase the diamond.
