I am looking for a diamond that is SI2 I-J color, ideal cut, round and about 1.5 ct. I have found three diamonds. Please tell me which one you would choose. Thanks a bunch. With the setting I want, I want to keep the diamond budget less than 8K.

Hi Linda!

The JA diamond might be a contender, ask if you can get an Idealscope image for it, and that it is also eyeclean to your standards. Also it may not be an issue, but it appears a feather is located near the girdle on this diamond, get JA's gemologist to just check it out that it isn't a durability issue, unlikely but best to check.

The BN diamond, I can't read the crown angle on my computer for some reason, can you tell me what it is please?

Hi Lorelei,
Thanks for posting. I have the same opnion as you that the JA diamond seems to be better since I plug into the HCA and the number came out to be better. The BN diamond has a crown angle of 36 and pavillion angle of 41.

Hi Linda!

Thanks, the crown on the BN diamond was blurred, I couldn''t quite tell if it was 36 degrees or not, but as it is, I would pass and concentrate on the JA diamond, as the BN is what we call a steep deep and would likely leak light and not perform as well as it could.

I called JA and she said the stone is eye clean. I asked about the color and she said it didn''t look yellow and this stone has fire. I am really new to picking diamond. Is this a good stone or should I look at the other stones as well? Any comments are appreciated!

I would ask for an Idealscope image for the JA diamond Linda, but you could certainly look at some other diamonds also. I would ask about reserving the JA diamond while you wait for the Idealscope image if you like the sound of it.

White Flash has 3 Expert Selection stones, J SI 1.5ish for under $8k. I''d snatch up one of them! :) I love what you''re after, I have something very similar.

I personally would pass on BN all together........no upgrade policy and they don''t personally inspect the stones or offer the kind of analysis that these other PS vendors do. James Allen, Whiteflash, GOG will give you a lot more service. Not to mention.......looking for an SI2 stone requires the vendor and you to see eye to eye on what eye clean is. I''ve dealt with WF on several SI2 stones and they are 100% honest and clear on the inclusion situation. BN on the other hand has sold me 2 SI2 stones that they told me were eye clean that were NOT.......
