Hi All,
I'm shopping for an engagement ring for my GF and very new at this. I've been reading around the forum and have shopped around and found a couple diamonds. I would love some advice. Ideally I am looking for an ideal cut, 1.5 carat, G colour, SI1 diamond. I was shown two:
- GIA certified, 1.25 ct, VS2, F color Ex/Ex/Ex cut, 6.91x6.87x4.31mm, $12985 CAN Dol
- Gemscan certified, Ideal cut, Hearts and Arrow, 1.52 ct, G color, SI1 color,7.32x7.29x4.58mm, $12390 CAN Dol
Any opinions on Gemscan Hearts& arrows 1.5 carat versus a smaller GIA 1.25 carat stone? The place I went to came highly recommended from a friend who has shopped from them many times before. I am inclined to go for the larger Hearts and Arrows diamond, but a little unsure about a non-GIA certified stone. Also I wasn't originally looking for Hearts and Arrows. From what I've read I'm not sure it makes that much difference between Hearts and Arrows and another Ideal cut stone, as likely both would have an excellent cut and be as brilliant as possible.
Thanks to all for your advice.
