Pictures of the rendering came today!!! There is more about what I''m going for here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/experience-with-mark-turnowski-from-erd.62723/

It''s so exciting to see the pictures, but I still have no idea what the ring is going to look like when complete so I feel pretty nervous right about now! Especially about the Michael B detail since it seems so hard to emulate. Also, why does the Michael B platinum look so shiny and white? Is this something special or is it just the lightening?

I want the setting under the halo to look really beautiful too. I was thinking of all kinds of things, from leaving it just as is, adding some micropave all the way to doing a ritani-eque thing. I don''t want to go overboard, but I love unique too. Help!! Any good ideas or advice out there?

Also, does anyone know if the Harry Winston Halo has one row of pave or is it a double row?

Thanks

Sorry these are so big. At least no one will need glasses.

I would... change the connection. I don''t have ideas... there are many more creative people on here that can help though

Hi Allison,

First of all, everyone has their own taste and style and this is YOUR RING and you need to make yourself happy.

But!!!! Since you asked for our opinion......LOL These are just suggestions!!!

Things I would consider:

Put diamonds on the 4 bars holding the HALO. Even Baguette diamonds or colored diamonds. Just thoughts.

On the HALO, I would want to see DIAMONDS not metal and melees are not that expensive. Cover it with diamonds, maybe put larger melees and smaller melees around that melee completely around the HALO.

Round off the edges of the ring, too masculine for a HALO ring. The squareness does not flow with the rest of the ring in my opinion.

Move down the first set of 3 diamonds because they are partially covered by the HALO.

Move the diamonds from the bottom of the ring to the top of the band where the world can see them. If you want, consider putting one melee on each side of the bottom of the ring.

I know when Maytal was making our ring, it was nerve racking, not knowing if the designer sees your vision, but Mark has a great reputation and he will make a killer ring for you.

Good Luck and keep us posted

Bump!

Wow!!! I really love it! I think it''s great that you are thinking outside the box, and creating something that no one else will have!!! Will the prongs really stick up that high? I would probably poke my eye out or something

... I can''t wait to see the finished product! Congrats!

Guys, renderings should be read differently than a final IRL photos of an actual ring - no, prongs are not that high, edges are not that sharp, pave not that spread etc.
As for the bars holding the halo - they are the most structurally bearing construction of the ring and though sometimes such parts are decorated with diamonds it would probably just make them bulkier - they do need certain amount of metal to be "supportive".

The only thing i would suggest is to not have those bars straight, a bit of a curve and they will match the rest of the design and probably make it easier for a band to sit flush.

I think it looks beautiful!!! The only thing I might change would be to get rid of a row of pave on the halo. This is preference, but I tend to like thinner halos.

I definitely would prefer curved bars there.

Also regarding the halo... I like delicate halos too. I would ditch the two row idea... move the first stone out from under the stone... center it more, then slim the metal down to fit it.

First, ditto what Irina said!

To that end, and in response to the quote above...the halo WILL be covered with diamonds! Ya gotta have a little metal in there to set the stones, but trust me, that halo will be melee all the way, as it''s designed.

Thanks everyone for the great input! I leaning towards changing the halo to a single row, because I really want to try to blend the HW micropave with the Michael B lace, and have it look like a true hybrid. Like they calibrated to create one ring!

:::crossing fingers:::

I''m also leaning towards the dome band instead of the round. We had gone back and forth on this because the stone is a rectangular shaped radiant, but I think I like the look of the more rounded Michael B. Has anyone seen both in person?

Mark T. is going to think about how to move the first cluster out from the center stone more.

I love the idea of adding some melees to the underside, still trying to figure out exactly how to "hybrid" the connection since the two connect to the band really differently. Mark T. has been really patient and great to work with. Yesterday we were talking about the ring, and I said something like, "I still want it to look simple" (I meant delicate, dainty

) and he kind of laughed and said, "this is anything but simple!" Funny.

If anyone has any more good ideas on how to hybrid the two designers look from the halo to the band, let me know!

Revised renderings coming soon and then that will be it from me until the big day (when ever that will be). I''ll post them when they get here.

I''ve seen both (I love the lace rings) and much MUCH prefer the rounded ones. I would go with that look if it were me.
